Effective and well-functioning EWCs in post – Covid era

Workshop: Effective EWC in post-Covid era”

04.12. 2023

The recent discussion on a website delved into the intricacies of sanctions, particularly in the context of GDPR breaches, with a focus on comparing different sanction mechanisms. While the conversation highlighted the role of sanctions as a deterrent, it emphasized the challenging nature of sustaining dialogue post-application. The importance of confidence-building emerged as a key theme, with an employer representative advocating for a shift in focus towards positive cooperation within transnational companies.

Rather than concentrating solely on violations by central management, the suggestion was to spotlight instances where collaboration yields positive outcomes and best practices that can be shared widely. The meeting participants reached a consensus to submit their comments and feedback on the “EWC Performance Assessment Tool” by January 15, 2024. The resulting document, describing the tool, will be prepared by the IPA.
