Posting of workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, current challenges, and future prospects
2nd Researchers online meeting
02.10.2023–13.11.2023
The 2nd Researchers’ Online Meeting, spanning two days, provided updates on the research activity and was communicated to the EC Project officer. The first day, held on 02.10.2023, involved discussions on the progress made in each country regarding the online survey, online focus groups, and depth interviews. Challenges arose in involving posted workers due to employer and worker reluctance, leading researchers to highlight this finding in the final report.
The second day, on 13.11.2023, focused on presenting research results from each involved country (PL, PT, BG, GR, RS, and SK) and preparing Country-Specific Analytical Reports. Nuno Boavida, the lead research expert, outlined progress, emphasizing low participation in the online survey in Portugal. Serbia faced challenges but managed to involve 18 posted workers. Poland concluded field research, revealing a lack of awareness among Polish posted workers about posting regulations. Bulgaria and Greece encountered difficulties, with Bulgaria apologizing for delays in organizing focus groups.
Nuno set deadlines for verification tools and stressed the importance of Country-Specific Analytical reports, emphasizing a 10-page length in the national language. Reports should detail research results, procedures, challenges, and insights drawn from participant responses
